What is Makaton?
Makaton is a language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate.
It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention and listening, comprehension, memory, recall and organisation of language.
Taster Sessions Available £10 per person
A Taster session lasts two hours and gives you a general introduction into what Makaton is and who uses it, with the opportunity to learn a few signs and symbols too.
This is perfect for those wanting to know a bit more about Makaton who aren't sure if they want to commit to a full workshop yet.
Level 1 Makaton Workshop - £77 per person
Start your Makaton Journey here and learn Stage 1 and 2 signs and symbols along with some Additional Vocabulary. This is a practical introduction to the Makaton Language Programme with lots of tips, activities and discussion.
Level 2 Makaton Workshop - £77 per person
Build upon the knowledge gained in Level 1 by learning Stages 3 and 4 signs and symbols along with more Additional Vocabulary.
Use practical activities to build your confidence and improve your skills
You must have completed a Level 1 Workshop
Level 3 Makaton Workshop - £77 per person
Revise your learning from Level 1 and 2 as well as learning Stages 5 and 6 signs and symbols.
Practical activities and discussion designed to give you the tools needed to support people in your setting more effectively.
You must have completed a Level 2 workshop
Level 4 Makaton Workshop - £77 per person
Revise all of the signs you have learned previously and learn stages 7 and 8 of the Core Vocabulary. This will complete your learning of the Core Vocabulary and will give you the tools required to communicate as effectively as possible.
